Sirens were blaring in a quiet village today - when a big bird with a reputation for attacking walkers and picnickers was finally brought to book.
Two police patrol cars blocked off Old Ferry Road in Iwade as the infamous emu tried to evade justice days after upsetting a group of picknickers.
It's believed the bird's detention came after his offending escalated... to include chasing motorbikes.
The "arrest" came just days after Jimmy upset a group of daytrippers as he chased them away from his home near Raspberry Hill Farm.
Walker Ted Spiller said he was accosted by Jimmy, who he accused of stalking him “like T-Rex”.
Last month he also shocked a group of three women - who could not scare off Jimmy even with a handbag.
Earlier in September the broody bird even attacked a jogger out on a morning run.
A police spokesman said Jimmy was rounded up today for his “own safety” as the curious creature veered dangerously close to a country road.
Jimmy’s presence in the area has proved controversial over the past year after reports the flightless animal was attacking ramblers.
However people living near the village described Jimmy as “a big softy” who just wants people to slip him a tasty snack.
