Motorists are being warned of overnight closures at a key junction on the M2 this week.
National Highways has confirmed a short notice closure of both the London-bound on and off slip roads at Junction 5 - for Sittingbourne and Maidstone.
It is a result of the on-going work at the Stockbury roundabout.
The closures will be overnight from 8pm to 5am today and tomorrow (August 22 and 23).
It is to allow preparation work for the Oad Street link road to install a permanant lane closure by the roundabout on the M2 off slip.
A spokesman said: "We apologise for the late notice of this closure, but we initially had this work planned under lane closures but the vehicles we need to use are too wide and we must now close the road completely.
"To join the M2 London-bound from Stockbury roundabout you'll need to use the A249 southbound to join the M20, A229 and rejoin the M2 at Junction 3.
"To leave the M2 at Junction 5 you'll need to continue to Junction 4, rejoin the M2 on the eastbound carriageway to leave the M2 at Junction 5."
It comes just days after drivers were told to expect four months of disruption as National Highways plans to close the coastbound entry and exit slip roads between the M2 and A249 to complete works on creating new slip roads on and off the motorway.
It means from Monday, September 12, until Friday, January 13, drivers will not be able to access Stockbury roundabout from the M2 coastbound and vice versa.
