A group of 12 lucky neighbours have struck gold after winning cash prizes thanks to their postcode.

Residents in Charlotte Street in Sittingbourne each won £1,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The windfall came when ME10 2JX was announced as a daily prize winner this morning.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners.

He said: "I'm so pleased for our winners today, congratulations to them! I hope they treat themselves to something nice with their winnings."

The lottery draw aims to donate a minimum of 32% of ticket sales to charities, and players have so far raised over £500million for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted by the NSPCC, which has received more than £3.9m in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The charity helps children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protects those at risk, and works to find new ways to prevent abuse from happening.

More charities will be able to apply for funding in August.
