Delays on M2 J5 near Sittingbourne after crash leaves traffic queuing back to J3 Chatham turn-off

A crash on the M2 near the Sittingbourne turn-off led to six miles of queuing traffic.

Two cars collided coastbound, near the slip road at junction 5, at around 6.20pm.

At one stage Highways England said there were delays of about 30 minutes for traffic trying to get onto the A249 via the Stockbury Roundabout.

Congestion was backed up to junction 4 for Gillingham.

All lanes have since re-opened.
