Young woman found dead at property in Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne

Emergency crews remain at a property where a young woman was found dead this morning.

Police were called at around 8.30am to Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne, near the junction with Vincent Road.

The woman, who was believed to have been in her early 20s, had been found deceased.

The cause of death is not currently being treated as suspicious and the next of kin have been informed.

From around 9am, three police cars and an ambulance were seen parked near the house.

Medics are officers were seen entering the property.

The ambulance and one of the police cars left around an hour later but the other two vehicles remained this lunchtime.

The incident has attracted a small crowd of people who have gathered outside and across the road near the junction with Swanstree Avenue.

A nearby resident speaking to KentOnline said: "It's terrible news, I noticed all the emergency crews and realised that something serious must have happened. I think that house has been converted into flats. I am sorry to hear about this."
