A man was taken to hospital after an assault in Sittingbourne yesterday.

Police and ambulance crews were called to reports of an assault in Sittingbourne High Street just after 5pm.

The victim sustained injuries to their head and face, and a 30-year-old man, known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Kent Police says the incident is being treated as isolated, and the arrested man remains in custody.
