Sittingbourne police and air ambulance attend an early morning assault on Elm Grove

A man was knifed in the chest in an early morning attack in Sittingbourne today.

Police were called to the scene at a house on Elm Grove at just after 7.30am.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was airlifted to a hospital in London where he is said to be in a stable condition.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested and is being held in police custody.
