Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital psychiatric nurse Vijay Bundhun, formerly of Canterbury, faces retrial on sex charges

A community psychiatric nurse accused of sex attacks on two women and a teenage student is facing a retrial.

The jury was discharged today after the lawyer representing the accused, Vijay Bundhun, was taken ill.

The new trial will not take place until August 3.

Bundhun was part of the mental health team at the Memorial Hospital when the alleged attacks took place

Bundhun, formerly of Tonford Lane, Canterbury, and now of no fixed address denied two charges of rape and three of sexual assault.

The 42-year-old father is alleged to have committed the offences while a member of the mental health team at the Memorial Hospital in Sittingbourne.
