A mystery woman who took an injured cat to the vets is being asked to come forward by the worried moggy’s owners.

Debbie and Steve Shilling say they just want to know if their pet Tink, is alive or dead after it was attacked by one of the lady’s two Staffordshire bull terriers.

She knocked on the door and informed Mr Shilling, 46, of the incident which happened opposite the couple’s bungalow in Nutfields, Sittingbourne, at about 6pm last Thursday but they have not seen or heard from her since.

Mrs Shilling, 44, said: “We heard from a boy down the road that she had put both dogs in the car and drove off then came back with a towel and picked the cat up and asked some children whose it was and they pointed her to our house.

“She was holding her in a tea towel and said her dog had attacked our cat and she was going to take it to the vets and that she would let us know what was going on and come straight back.

“Steve was in shock, he didn’t get any details from her, he just said OK then rang me but we’ve not heard anything since.

A mystery woman said she was taking Tink to the vets after her dog attacked the moggy

“We’re just desperate to know what has happened to her. If the worse has happened we just want to know so we can get her and bury her.

“If there’s a bill my daughter Chantelle, 27, whose cat it was to start with, has said she’ll pay it.

“We’ve rung every single vet in town as well as the PDSA in Gillingham and Newnham Court in Maidstone but nothing.

The couple are appealing to the lady to contact them

“I think the worst probably has happened and she doesn’t want to report it in case we want the dog put down but that’s not what we want, we just want to know what’s happened to her.”

The woman, who was driving a silver coloured car, possibly a Ford, is in her mid 50s with short grey hair and about 5ft 4in.

Tink is eight years old, quite small and black with white under its chin and on its front paws. It wasn’t microchipped or wearing a collar.
