Another week, another Jimmy sighting in the fields around Iwade.

This time, the pet emu upset a group of picnickers when he refused to leave them alone to enjoy their lunch.

Jimmy first started causing panic among walkers and motorists this summer, as he became more and more confident approaching people.

Persistent emu Jimmy with Ted Spiller

On Sunday, Ted Spiller was enjoying sandwiches in a field near Raspberry Hill when he and his group were approached by the winged menace.

He said: "The emu was very persistent and we had to abandon lunch and walk on, it followed us like Tyrannosaurus Rex in Jurassic Park to the next stile."

But a number of people have in recent weeks jumped to the defence of the territorial bird, with the Iwade Walkers' Group saying he is "very friendly" and "curious".
