Police still quizzing murder suspect

A 20-year-old man remains in police custody today after being arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 34-year-old man from Sittingbourne.

The man's body was found lying in Eastwood Road, Sittingbourne, with fatal injuries on Friday night. He has not yet been named.

Police are still seeking another man in connection with the incident. Officers are also keen to speak to a group of men and women who were in Eastwood Road at the time of the incident.

Det Insp Maria Shepherd, who is in charge of the investigation, said: "Incidents of this nature in Sittingbourne are extremely rare and we have set up an incident room at the police station to enable officers to investigate the crime in great detail."
