Hundreds of people living in Sittingbourne were unable to access the internet or use their landlines because of a power fault.

Openreach confirmed the issue, saying 900 homes were affected.

It is understood Sky, BT and Talk Talk customers were among those to lose services.

William Godfrey revealed personal data online. Stock image.

An Openreach spokesman said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused in Sittingbourne this evening.

"We have a fault with our power supply locally and our engineers are doing their best to fix it and have services restored as quickly as possible.”

Power has since been restored to all homes.
