Kent Science Park firms raise money for Demelza House hospice, Bobbing

Tenants at Kent Science Park (KSP) filled and decorated hampers for youngsters and families who will be spending Christmas at Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

A competition was held to see which business could come up with the most seasonal design for their festive goody holder.

About 20 hampers were entered into the contest with entrants being given a box, a £5 starter donation, the age of the person they were making it for and whether they were a girl or boy.

Dovetail Services, a Kent Science Park firm, which won a competition to design a Christmas hamper for Demelza House.

After that, entrants were allowed to decorate it however they pleased, and fill it with any appropriate gifts.

An igloo designed by Dovetail Services was judged the winner, with Father Christmas on hand to reward the team with a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates.

James Speck, KSP site director, said: “This is the third year we have run the competition, and once again the tenants have taken it to another level.

“We are hoping the hampers will bring extra joy to the children and their families.”
