Shane Byrne sets sights on winning fourth British Superbike Championship

Shane Byrne is thinking only about himself as he bids to win the British Superbike Championship for a record fourth time.
Sittingbourne rider Byrne goes head-to-head with fellow three-time champion Ryuichi Kiyonari when the 2013 season starts at Brands Hatch on April 7.
It’s set to be a fascinating scrap as the pair fight for title No.4, while Byrne needs only two more victories to set a new record for the most race wins.
The 36-year-old (pictured) is looking forward to taking on the returning Kiyonari but isn’t too worried about the Japanese rider.
He said: “Whether Kiyo’s here or not, I’m here to try and make myself the most successful BSB rider.
“I missed four races last year which might have put me in a position to be able to say I’m already the most successful BSB rider in terms of race wins.
“But it’s great that he’s here for us to be able to fight for four because nobody’s ever done it before. That’s not to say my sole focus is on Kiyo."
