Teenage boy arrested after more than 200 cannabis plants seized from Sittingbourne house

A teenage boy has been arrested after more than 200 cannabis plants were seized from a house.

Officers attended the property in Burley Road, Sittingbourne, at about 11pm on Thursday after reports of a strong smell of cannabis.

On arrival, they found the windows were taped up and there was humming noise coming from inside.

A cannabis factory was discovered, with plants being cultivated across several rooms including the upstairs bedrooms, loft and basement.

It is also believed that electricity was being abstracted.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis.

He has since been released without charge.

Police say inquiries are ongoing.
