The sun shone and crowds turned out in force for UKP Leisure Club’s music festival on Saturday.

Funfair rides, live music, a barbecue and a real ale tent kept about 2,000 people entertained at The Pavilion in Gore Court Road.

Skadekat and Jam Sandwich provided blistering sets on a bill which included X Factor finalist Ben Mills and his band Benzego.

The afternoon was compered by Sittingbourne’s Boy George lookalike Matt Endersby. It was the pop star double’s third appearance at the festival and, by all accounts, it was the best yet.

He said: “The weather was fantastic, which made it really. It was a really good family atmosphere, good bands and there was no trouble.

“Sittingbourne and ska music go well together, so Skadekat were particularly popular.

“Last year wasn’t so good because of the weather, but Saturday was a really good day for Sittingbourne as a whole. Roll on next year.”
