Scaffolding is due to be inside and outside a popular Wetherspoon for the next six weeks because of a damaged roof.

The Golden Hope in Sittingbourne is having its dome ceiling repaired due to an ongoing leak.

A spokesman said: "We are repairing the dome inside the pub, and currently also have a lot of scaffolding in the pub, which will be in place for about six weeks.

"The pub was closed for four days last week so scaffolding could be erected. The dome in the roof was leaking and this needs to be repaired."

The pub, which is now open as usual, opened in July 2015 and was formerly a magistrates' court.

Prisoners' cells have been converted into private booths.
