A woman was hit by a car as she crossed the road in Kemsley, near Sittingbourne, this afternoon.

Ambulance staff and police were called to Grovehurst Road at about 1.35pm.

It is understood a car had stopped to allow the woman, who was in her 70s, to cross when another vehicle drove into the back of it, sending it crashing into the pensioner.
