Students, staff and Rotarians. Invicta Rotary Club starts its third Caterham kit car build project

Boxes of parts were delivered to Swale Skills Centre as part of a project for teenagers to learn about engineering.

The Caterham sports car kit was bought by The Rotary Club of Sittingbourne Invicta as part of a trainee programme which is now in its third year.

It will be built by 13 pupils from Sittingbourne Community College who have all signed an agreement to work on it twice a week after school, with each stage recorded.

Once completed it will be returned to the Surrey-based company and sold.

A spokesman for the club said: “It’s about giving them an opportunity and experience to work on a project as a team.

"It’s also about commitment and a sense of achievement and is something they can put on their CV.”
