In the world of showbiz it’s hard to get that lucky break.
But Bobbing resident Amy Maisey has been chosen to appear in a hair and skin advertising campaign.
Out of hundreds of applicants, the eight-year-old was one of five lucky youngsters to make it through to the finals for the chance to become a presenter for the Mini-U range.
While she wasn’t the overall winner, the judges were so impressed with her that they still asked her to appear in the short product videos for the brand which will be available to view via the internet.
She is expected to travel to Hove with her mum Sophie on August 19 for filming.
The Year 4 Borden Primary ‘School pupil, who attends the Razzamataz Theatre School in Rainham, said: "I’m very happy and very excited.
"I’m not exactly sure what I will be doing yet.
"When I’m older I want to be famous because I just love being on stage and being popular. I’m hoping this will be the first job of many."
Parents Sophie Westlake, 36, and Anthony Maisey, 40, are proud of their little star.
Sophie, of Parsonage Lane, said: "It’s the first time she’s done anything like this so she’s very excited.
"I couldn’t be any happier for her for. She was still a winner to me though when she made it down to the last five.
"Since she was three she’s always loved dancing and singing and acting. She’s so different to my four-year-old Josie. But Amy doesn’t come across as cocky, she’s very grounded and I want to keep it that way, I don’t want it going to her head."
Robert Mukherjee, Mini-U managing director, said: "We are excited to give Amy a fun opportunity to become a mini star. We are a fast growing company with new products taking us in new directions and it’s going to be a fun journey for Amy."
