Emergency services were called to the scene where a 34-year-old who had been in the passenger seat of the BMW had to be cut free from the vehicle and airlifted to King's College Hospital in London.

Adam Fill from Kemsley, Sittingbourne, suffered several fractures and swellings and remains in a serious condition.

A fundraiser has been launched to help support his family while the dad-of-two and breadwinner remains in hospital.

A man in his 40s who had been driving the Land Rover was also taken to hospital with serious injuries but is now recovering at home.

A passenger in the car, a woman in her 30s, sustained “serious injuries” too and was taken to a local hospital.

Officers are asking to hear from anyone who may have seen the BMW travelling from the M20 junction seven roundabout up Detling Hill towards Sittingbourne.

They are also appealing to anyone who witnessed the Land Rover travelling in the opposite direction before using the slip road for the Chalky Road junction in the moments before the collision.

Sergeant Chris Oliver-Jones said: “This is a well-travelled road, even at that time of night and believe there may be further witnesses to the incident who might hold valuable information.”

Dashcam footage can be uploaded here.
