POLICE are seeking information in connection with a seemingly unprovoked assault on a teenager.

The 18-year-old victim was walking past a betting shop in East Street, Sittingbourne, when he was surrounded by five youths who had been following him and shouting abuse.

One member of the group suddenly punched him in the head, resulting in extensive pain. Police are appealing for information following the incident which occurred between 4.20pm and 4.40pm on Saturday, 7 January 7.

The suspect is described as being a white male, aged between 13 and 15, of medium build with short brown hair. He wasearing a light blue hooded top with dark blue stripes on the arms and dark tracksuit bottoms with white trainers.
