Worrying pictures of asbestos-ridden fly-tipping have emerged.
One concerned resident, Keith Lewis, spotted the dirty roof tiles along the Iwade Road at Newington near Sittingbourne last Monday and took pictures.
He said: "What appears to be asbestos roofing can be seen stretching for about half a mile along Iwade Road. They are spaced out and look as if they were thrown from a lorry.
"We were walking along a footpath on Monday (Mar 8) and turned left into Iwade Road, walking towards the church. What stood out was that it was spread uniformly along the road.
"It was as if two people had stood on the back of a lorry and tossed it onto the verge while the lorry drove slowly along.
"I've seen fly-tipping before but nothing as spread out and calculated as this. This blatant and calculated sort of fly-tipping is especially dangerous if it is indeed asbestos."
The sheets, along with black plastic bin bags and other rubbish, were strewn along the country road and ended up on a grass verge alongside a drainage ditch.
A man was fined £400 last month for dumping household rubbish in a car park at Leysdown on Sheppey after being caught on CCTV.
Cllr Julian Saunders, Swale council's cabinet member for the environment, said: "There is never an excuse for fly-tipping."
