A carnival princess who was slapped with an asbo has had the conditions of her order altered.
Under the terms of the order Rachael Booker-Pook was banned from entering The Forum Shopping Centre but Sittingbourne Magistrates agreed this morning (Thursday) to relax the order.
It means she can now enter the complex in Sittingbourne High Street to carry out carnival duties as long as she is accompanied by a representative of Sittingbourne carnival association.
The 18-year-old will join the rest of the carnival court on Saturday when they judge the St George’s Day window dressing competition which includes entries from the shopping centre.
Pam Griggs, chair of the association, had planned to stand outside The Forum with Rachael and remove her sash if magistrates hadn’t agreed to alter the conditions.
Booker-Pook received the two-year anti-social order in February but hit the headlines when Kent police released details of the asbo just weeks after she was selected as one of two princesses for Sittingbourne Carnival Association.
