Moving into a new housing development and trying to get to know your neighbours can be a tricky time.
But for residents of Kingsferry Place, Iwade, it was made a little easier thanks to a summer barbecue.
Joa Bamber, who moved to the village seven months ago, organised the event which took place on Saturday.
More than 50 residents turned out from 3pm to 9pm to enjoy the food, which was provided jointly by developer Ward Homes and Moat housing association.
The children enjoyed games such as popping the water balloons and giant Jenga, while the adults were able to make new acquaintances while chatting in the sunshine.
Mrs Bamber said: “Whether you have lived in a community for 50 days or 50 years, it takes people to make it work, and the residents are very pleased to have taken the steps to make their community a friendly and welcoming one.”
