KENT Police have named a young motorcyclist killed while riding his 600cc Yamaha R6 machine last weekend.

He was 21-year-old Lee Richardson, of All Saints Road, Murston, Sittingbourne, who had worked as an operative at Monarch Chemicals at Sheerness for about a year.

The tragedy happened on the Romney Marsh Road dual carriageway at Ashford last Saturday. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

Mr Richardson was a former pupil at Murston infants and junior schools and then went to Fulston Manor School, Sittingbourne.

His mother, Sheila, said: "He had no fear and had been so happy because he had achieved everything he wanted - his new job, girlfriend and motorbike. Everything was looking good for him."

The funeral will be at 10am on Thursday, April 13, at The Garden of England Crematorium, Bobbing, and all are welcome. The family say jeans and tee-shirts will be most appropriate, rather than black clothes.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen the bike just before the accident is asked to telephone Kent Police's serious crash investigation unit on 01622 798538.
