Firefighters were called to a car ablaze on the A249.
The incident happened on the dual carriageway near Stockbury towards Maidstone at around 4pm yesterday.
Two fire engines from Sittingbourne and Maidstone attended the scene after a BMW became engulfed in flames whilst driving.
The inferno was believed to have started by a possible fuel leak and faulty wiring.
Crews took 40 minutes using a hosereel jet and specialist tools to extinguish the fire.
The driver escaped uninjured.
