KENT Police have confirmed the identity of a man found in the water at Elmhaven Marina at Halling, near Rochester, at the end of last month.

He was 29-year-old Richard Miles, of Lynsted Lane, Sittingbourne, who had been reported missing from home.

The body was discovered by a boat owner on Sunday, December 30. The last known contact from Mr Miles, who sometimes used the surname of Morrison, was on Wednesday November 28 when it was believed he was in the Rochester or Strood area.

Police are not treating his death as suspicious. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
