Police have confirmed a body has been found after a house was taped off.

Officers attended an address in St John’s Avenue, Sittingbourne, at 10.15am yesterday where a woman in her 50s was found dead.

Three police cars and a forensics van were outside the home.

A witness said: "There are three cop cars outside and the entire property has been cordoned off. There are bags of stuff next to the front door."

At present, the death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
