A 10-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

Burley Road in Sittingbourne was closed after the child was knocked down at about 4.20pm yesterday.

Police were seen at the junction with London Road and further down Burley Road following the incident.

The boy was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Burley Road reopened just before 5.30pm.
