A woman escaped unhurt after crashing her Land Rover Discovery into a garden wall on Key Street.

Witnesses said it happened as she was pulling out of the town's Texaco garage just after 2pm.

She reportedly sped across the road and ploughed into the wall, demolishing it and felling a tree.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene, but the woman did not require hospital treatment.

The homeowner was not in at the time.

A barrier has since been put up around the crash site and the tree has been removed.
