The number of burglaries and attempted break-ins across the town continues to rise.

In the last 14 months, more than 470 incidents have been brought to the attention of the News Extra. The latest are as follows:

Between December 27-31 a box of car parts for a Ford Mondeo were taken from a garden shed in Oak Road, Murston – crime reference number XY/000123/14.

Several items were stolen during a burglary in Unity Street, Sittingbourne, between December 31 and January 1 – XY/000121/14.

Garages were broken into at Watsons Hill, Sittingbourne, overnight between December 22-27 – XY/042016/13; XY/042019/13.

Power tools stolen from a garage in Beechwood Avenue, Milton Regis, between December 28-29 – XY/042262/13.

Gardening tools stolen from a garage in High Street, Milton Regis, between December 20-24 – XY/041981/13.

A handbag was stolen from Kings Mill Close, Milton Regis, just after 7pm on December 30 – XY/042375/13.

A red Voodoo Hoodoo bicycle was stolen from a garden shed in Rock Road, Sittingbourne, between January 1-2 – XY/000257/14.

Between December 31 and January 2 fishing equipment was stolen from a garden shed in Burley Road, Sittingbourne – XY/000389/14.

A pedal cycle was stolen from a garage in Tavistock Close, Sittingbourne, between December 24 and January 3 – XY/000505/14.

A yellow Giant bicycle was stolen from a garage in Argent Way, Sonora Fields, between December 27 and January 1 – XY/000328/14.

An orange cement mixer was stolen from a garden in Crown Road, Sittingbourne, early on Saturday, January 4 – XY/000509/14.

Jewellery was stolen during a burglary in Britannia Close, Milton Regis, on January 5 – XY/000558/14.

Alert householders prevented a burglary at 8.30pm on January 4 in Wells House, Portland Avenue, Murston – XY/000470/14.

A tool box and its contents plus a quantity of heating oil was stolen from a garage in Milstead between January 5-7 – XY/000828/1.

Between January 1-9 a burglary occurred in Hilton Drive, Sittingbourne – XY/000955/14.

An attempted burglary occurred in Staplehurst Road, Sittingbourne, between January 7-8 – XY/000831/14.

A burglary occurred in Barrow Grove, Sittingbourne, between 3.20pm and 7pm on January 8 – XY/000904/14.

Between 5.50pm and 6.15pm on January 6, a burglary in progress was interrupted by returning householders at a property in Grayshott Close, Sittingbourne. Items had been stolen however – XY/000681/14.

A burglary occurred in Rettendon Drive, Kemsley, between January 1-6 – XY/000630/14.
