Police were called to a frozen pond after reports of children "falling though" the ice.
Youngsters were seen playing on the ice in Pemberton Rise, in Teynham, near Sittingbourne, yesterday afternoon.
A concerned witness, who did not wish to be named, called the emergency services due to the recent news of the four boys who died after falling through ice on a Solihull lake.
She said: "The two children both fell in near the front of the pond and then decided to lay on the ice.
"I called the police who came out on blues and smashed the ice to prevent it happening again.
"There definitely needs to be more awareness about the dangers of frozen water.
"It was very lucky that no one was hurt."
