Registration plates cloned from a car in Sittingbourne were used on a get away car following a raid on a jewellery store.
The trio of raiders made off in a stolen black Ford Focus after using hammers to smash the front window of Hadfield Jewellers, in Castle Street, Canterbury, just before 3.30pm on Saturday, April 3.
They escaped down Hospital Lane with £170,000 worth of high quality bespoke jewellery, dumping the escape car in Stour Street before making off on foot possibly down Water Lane which comes out on St Peter’s Grove. It is believed they could have then climbed into another vehicle and left the area.
The car, which was stolen from Croydon, carried plates cloned from an identical car from Sittingbourne.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Det Sgt Andy Amor of the east Kent major inquiry team on 01622 690690 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
