POLICE have seized six off-road bikes in parts of mid-Kent.
Officers targeted the bikers who had no insurance in Murston and Kemsley in Sittingbourne, on January 26 and 27.
Sargeant Darren Ryder, of the Sittingbourne Neighbourhood Team, said: "We will not only issue warnings to those using vehicles antisocially, but also make use of current legislation to take as many of these bikes as possible off the roads.
"People who live near areas where off-road bikes are used have to suffer the constant noise and pollution they generate. This is simply not acceptable and we will continue to run initiatives to target these thoughtless and antisocial individuals.
"I would like to urge parents whose children ride off-road bikes to consider the impact that being stopped by the police could have on their child’s future.
"Though it may seem like harmless fun, riding these bikes can be dangerous and result in a court appearance."
