A busy road was sealed off by police following a crash.

The southbound carriageway of the A249 was closed due to an accident between the Key Street roundabout and junction five of the M2.

Traffic was being diverted off the road and onto Oad Street.

The crash happened at around 4.15pm and caused heavy congestion in and around Sittingbourne.

A second accident shortly afterwards in the same area also added to delays.

Meanwhile, flooding at The Ridgeway (Stockbury Roundabout) has been making it difficult for drivers to get on to the M2.
