A main road was taped off after a crash involving a police car.

Staplehurst Road in Sittingbourne was shut between the Bobbing turn-off of the A249 and Sonora Fields this morning.

The accident happened at about 8.10am.

A police spokesman said the collision involved a police vehicle.

He added: "No other vehicles were involved and there are no injuries."

The road remained shut while the damaged car was recovered.

No further details were available, the spokesman said.
