Firefighters dealt with a large straw bale blaze this afternoon.
Crews on two engines were called to South Street Road in Sittingbourne at 2.15pm after a large amount of straw bales caught alight.
Since then, firefighters have been working to tackle and reduce the fire spread.
Crews remain at the scene and are now maintaining a watching brief and monitoring for hot spots.
Those living or working nearby are being advised to close windows and doors as a precaution due to smoke.
At 9.15pm this evening one fire engine remained at the scene.
