Sittingbourne were unlucky to come away with nothing after a tremendous Ryman League Division 1 South battle at Croydon Athletic on Saturday.
The visitors lined up defensively, with Tom Bradbrook the lone striker, but it was Hicham Akhazzan, on 13 minutes, who missed a chance to give the Brickies the lead when he fired wide.
Croydon missed several chances themseleves but made the breakthrough three minutes into the second half when Gareth Williams was given space to place a shot beyond Deren Ibrahim.
Sittingbourne responded on 62 minutes when Elie Kayembe, pictured, and Bradbrook swapped passes, leaving Kayembe to shoot home.
Kayembe and Bradbrook both went close in stoppage time but Croydon grabbed a dramatic winner in the 95th minute when a corner went through a ruck of players before substitute Leslie Thompson struck a foot out and the ball flew into the net.
Sittingbourne travel to Whitstable on Tuesday before hosting Chipstead on Thursday.
