A cyclist has suffered serious injuries after a crash with a car in Sittingbourne this morning.

Ambulance crews were called to Capel Road at 8.35am to reports of a serious collision close to Fulston Manor School.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, reportedly suffered a serious head injury and a Kent Air Ambulance road vehicle was called.

After initial checks the man was taken to Medway Maritime hospital as a priority.

South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed the driver of the car was uninjured.

No arrests were made following the collision.
