Crash and fire on M2 between Sittingbourne and Faversham

Drivers are facing delays on a major route after a fire broke out following a crash.

Traffic was temporarily held while the vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder but shortly after 5pm the route was cleared.

Queues, however, were still said to be around 45 minutes.

Kent County Council Highways is urging drivers to approach with caution and to allow extra time for their journeys.

Emergency services have been contacted for comment.
