A four-car smash on a busy stretch of the M2 caused delays for drivers this morning.

One lane was blocked and traffic queued after four vehicles were involved in the crash on the M2 London-bound between J5 for A249 and the Stockbury Roundabout and the Medway Services.

Lane one of two was closed to allow the vehicles to be recovered.

Motorists said queues of around two miles had built up shortly before 9am.

Delays were also reported on the A249 Maidstone-bound carriageway.

None of the drivers involved required medical treatment.
