The A249 was closed this afternoon due to a crash between two cars.

The Sheppey-bound carriageway between Bobbing and Iwade, near Sittingbourne, has been closed as a result of the incident which saw a car overturned.

It happened near the Sheppey Crossing.

A police spokesman said: "A two-car collision was reported to us at 2.30pm.

"Officers attended and there were no serious injuries."

The road is due to reopen shortly.

There is also blocked traffic on the A2 Milton Road in both directions due to accident around Sittingbourne Train Station.
