Passengers faced long waits on rail services tonight after a vehicle crashed into a bridge near Sittingbourne.
Southeastern trains had to be held while a team checked the structure was safe at Church Lane, near Newington railway station.
Engineers were called to inspect the bridge which was struck by a vehicle at about 5.30pm.
Trains were moving again by 6.40pm but delays of up to 45 minutes remained.
Thameslink was accepting Southeastern ticket holders on its services between Rainham and London.
