POLICE have released an image of women they are keen to question in relation to a theft of a purse and cash from a 58-year-old woman.
The victim, from the village of Teynham, was shopping in High Street, Sittingbourne, when the theft occurred between 12.50pm and 1pm on Thursday, February 2.
About £150 in cash, a purse and a gold bracelet valued at £400 were stolen in the incident.
Sally Smith, police media and communications officer for the Swale area, said: "Prior to the theft it is reported that the 58-year-old woman had withdrawn money from a cash point machine. Whilst she was doing so a woman approached her and distracted her.
"We are keen to speak with two women, who are described as being of Eastern European appearance."
Sgt Andy Bell said: “We have experienced a number of thefts in Sittingbourne High Street recently and I would like to ask people to be vigilant.
"Be aware of people around you and try not to carry large quantities of cash if it can be prevented. If you are approached by someone and feel they are suspicious, please contact the police.”
