The fourth annual Lower Halstow dog show was its best attended with more than 100 people arriving to watch the talented pets.
On Saturday, visitors flocked to the village’s memorial hall to watch about 40 adorable dogs compete in categories that included best fancy dress, happiest dog, prettiest/most handsome, owner look-alike and a timed Crufts-style assault course.
The agility heat proved popular, as families watched dogs, some much more nimble than others, attempt to jump through rings, walk across see-saws and race up and down ramps as a clock timed their efforts.
The best-dressed category was won by a pair of adorable shih tzus, which had been kitted out in American Independence Day-themed outfits.
The most prestigious prize of best in show was claimed by black labrador Mossie and the award was proudly collected by owner and Iwade resident Alix Wright.
Organiser Kay Howard-Challis said: “It was very well attended and the weather was beautiful.
“A big thank you must go out to Anne Richards who, with her daughter, designed and built the entire agility course. We’re going to make the show even bigger next year and have stalls.”
In total, the day raised more than £200 to be spent on the village’s over-60s group’s Christmas party.
