Driver Darren Lockyer due in court after crash left boy, 16, with serious injuries

A 29-year-old man is due in court next month after a crash which left a teenage motorcyclist with serious injuries.

The crash, just after 5pm on Monday, January 19, involved a Fiat Seicento and a motorbike on the A2 London Road in Bapchild.

A boy, 16, suffered a broken pelvis, and it's believed he will need months of rehabilitation.

Darren Lockyer, 29, of Thistle Walk in Sittingbourne, was charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to report an accident and three counts of using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

He has been bailed to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on May 11.
