Police are hunting two men who fled after their car crashed into five parked vehicles.

Residents in Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne, were woken about 4.30am today by two loud bangs.

One man was seen jogging away from the scene and down nearby Vincent Road. The second man walked away.

It is believed their car clipped the wing mirror of a Ford Fiesta before causing serious damage to vehicles in front of it.

The other cars are understood to be a Land Rover, Ford C-Max, Citroen Xsara and a Peugeot 206.

A nearby resident, who didn't wish to be named, said: "The bang was so loud, at first I thought there'd been an explosion.

"It woke lots of people up, especially the poor folk whose cars have been really battered.

"The Land Rover's back wheel is totally knackered and the Citroen has been smashed down the driver's side. "The C-Max's front bumper was taken off completely."

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called at 4.27am to a report of a collision between a car and a number of parked vehicles.

"Witnesses reported two males leaving the scene on foot.

"Inquiries have been carried out and the car is registered to an address in south London.

"Officers from the Met Police have made contact with the registered keeper."
