A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving after a car was seen travelling the wrong way down a busy road.

Police officers made the arrest on the A249 in Sittingbourne shortly after midnight last night.

The car had been driving towards Maidstone on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway.

A 47 year-old woman, from Faversham, has been taken in to custody and will be questioned later today.

In a tweet police officers said it was "Incredibly lucky that no one was hurt."

Drink drivers seemed to be a big problem for Swale Police last night.

The team tweeted that they had arrested two other suspected drunk drivers in separate incidents.
