An Iwade drummer will face his fear of heights by doing a bungee jump to raise money for a charity close to his heart.
Keith Reynolds freezes when he goes up a ladder but he will be taking on a 200ft jump at the Wheatsheaf pub, East Street, Sittingbourne, on Saturday.
The 36-year-old, of Mallard Crescent, will be joined by his bandmate from The Kulpritts, Shane Barden, who has been through the ordeal before, for moral support.
Mr Reynolds was approached by Laura Toon, sister of Wheatsheaf owner Rebekah Mason, while playing a gig on August 24.
At first the dad-of-four refused but when she told him it was for Cancer Research he changed his mind.
His father was diagnosed with cancer of the colon last year but after treatment the disease is now in remission.
Mr Reynolds is a freelance project manager for a construction firm which sees him regularly have to walk along scaffolding.
He said: “I have to grin and bear it. I’m fine when there is a cover.
“It’s only when I can see out I’m a little bit more petrified.”
The fundraiser will take place from 7pm to 9pm. It costs £60 to take part with an optional £10 donation and sponsorship forms are available from behind the bar.
